Yeah. That’s uplifting.
Well, this book isn’t exactly uplifting. But it is riveting. It is emotional. It is challenging. It is unreal.
Green is a master wordsmith and I’m adding all of his books to my to-read pile. Having watched a friend go through cancer (and defeating it!) as a young girl, this book struck close. The characters are real, hilarious, raw and compelling. The plot is fresh and a bit unpredictable.
If you’re looking for warm fuzzies, don’t attempt this book. If you want a book that you won’t be able to put down, that will make you cry, scream and toss the book (or your Kindle) to the other side of the room, then jump in. You might hate me for it, but I’m sure you’ll thank me later. 🙂 (As I’m thanking Raela for recommending this to me in the first place.)
