My review:
I’d heard a lot about Lisa Wingate and was excited to dive into Larkspur Cove. I wasn’t disappointed.
Right away I was pulled into each main character and loved Wingate’s use of first person for both the male and female main characters. It flowed easily and I loved seeing each characters thoughts!
The little Texas town was fun to read about, though I’m in no hurry to pack up and move. (I’m quite content in the Pacific Northwest, thank you.) The secondary characters all bring the small town to life and remind me of my own small hometown.
The plot felt real and the characters felt real. I don’t know that there is higher praise than that for a book—I simply enjoyed the read and the characters themselves. (Favorite character would have to be the raccoon, though. Just saying.)
A delightful summer read for anyone looking to steal away for a few hours.
