My Review:
Oh my word. Elizabeth Camden just gets better with every book she writes. (Check out my raving reviews of Against the Tide, Rose of Winslow Street, and The Lady of Bolton Hill.)
This book is full of action and romance that never really lets you catch your breath. Thus, clear your calendar if you plan to “just read a few pages.” (You’re welcome for the handy tip.)
Both the hero and heroine are dynamic characters with secrets, flaws and virtues that will make you root for them.
As a history buff, the perspective of Chicago after the devastating fire was fascinating and a delightful twist on a familiar plotline. Of course, Camden’s writing and style are not familiar — they are beyond excellent and a true joy to absorb.
Waiting anxiously for her next one!
