Hello, blog.
Long time, no see.
It’s been what? A little over a year?
Gosh, you’ve changed. Me? Oh, you won’t believe everything that’s changed for me in the past year.
Where do I even begin?
I’m a whole new person. I’m complete. I’m, as Elizabeth Stone said, “forever to have my heart walking outside my body.”
What a beautiful gift motherhood is. What a challenge, what an adventure.
On December 18, 2015 at 11:19 p.m., we welcomed the sweetest early Christmas gift I’ve ever seen.
Before, during, since and for a long time to come — my world has revolved around this darling thing.
We lost our beloved Honey right after Valentine’s day, and though there’s a void in our household and hearts, we are so thankful for every moment we had with her. She even got to meet, love on and lick our little Christmas gift for two precious months.
So very much has happened in 2016. I shared a little about my maternity leave here. It’s been a blessing to continue to work from home and a learning experience every step of the way.
I’ve missed blogging, though I’ve been journaling off and on.
Something struck me the other day, and I flipped through this site, old posts. I smiled at each one, remembering not only the writing and posting pictures, but the circumstances of life surrounding each one. There are so many pieces of me tied in each post.
It’s important to share. It’s important to remember. It’s important to be.
Writing is my way of living in the moment. So here I am, again. It’s great to be back and a part of this again.
I’ll share more musings, stories and pictures in the coming weeks. If there was ever a time in my life to process, preserve and persevere, it’s now.
Thank you, blog. You’re a dear friend.
Catch you again, soon.
